Filthy Lucre

The Bible gives some disparaging titles to money. It is called "unrighteous mammon" and "filthy lucre." Yet, when money is dedicated to God, it accomplishes much good. It facilitates ministry. It sends missionaries. Money operates the local church, Bible schools, and helps the poor, etc.

How can we change "filthy lucre" into something truly good? God provided only one means to do that: tithe. When I bring the first tenth to Him, I have brought all of the increase under the Lordship of Jesus. Paul said, "if the firstfruit be holy then is the lump holy." Romans 11:16.
